Seamus Duffy - Head of Golf Programme      Seamus-D.JPG

With a history of 15 years of golf coaching and as one of the GUI Ulster Branch Elite coaches, Seamus has an excellent track record within his field – something which he brings with him to the JGA. Seamus gained full PGA Professional status in 1988, with the early part of his career including an impressive record of tournament success on the Irish scene – with many ‘top ten’ finishes. This qualified Seamus for entry to the Irish Open and European Tour School on many occasions, and valuable sponsorship from Dunnes Stores during this period.  Seamus has overall responsibility for the JGA golfing programme, which has been designed and built especially for the Junior Golf Academy. The programme is unique in its design and implementation methods and includes one-to-one coaching, video analysis and skills and test training – coupled to statistical analysis using the unique JGA Performance Diary. Seamus is also a fully qualified Titleist Performance Institute coach and works with all the students to build and develop their own personal TPI programmes.

As a parent recently commented, "You must be feeling pretty proud, the boys have done well....the staff have done a great job...perhaps the GUI will let you take over the GUI Squads"

As an Ulster GUI Elite Coach and a fully qualified Titleist Performance Institute coach, Johnny is able to work with the students, developing and maintaining their personal training programmes. Johnny also utilises his MSc in Sport, Exercise & Leisure when coaching and teaching, thus bringing a different angle to the whole experience. This ties in well with the education programme, ensuring all students can gain advice and knowledge where appropriate.   Johnny works with the Academy on a part time basis, whilst maintaining his various outside interests.
